Arnold J. Dumont

Arnold Jean Dumont, age 83, of Willingboro, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 29,2026 in Millville, NJ surrounded by his family after a 3 year battle with cancer. Arnold was born Jean Joseph Arnold Dumont on October 25, 1942 in Leogane, Haiti. Arnold was the son of Marguerite Arnault (seamstress) and Necker Dumont (a hat maker). Arnold attended a catholic boys elementary school and went on to completed his upper secondary education at Lycee Toussaint Louverture in Haiti. Arnold initially wanted to go to medical school in Haiti. But after several challenges and a move to the US, Arnold ended up working at Hayward - where he met his late wife, Gladys. They established their family home in Newark, NJ. In 1981, Arnold graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, earning his Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering - specializing in plastics. He married Gladys in 1983 and settled his family in Willingboro, NJ. Arnold worked as an engineer for Ideal Toys, Charles Beseler Company, and Electric Mobility. He was an inventor… a lifetime-learner - that would later teach himself many things.

Arnold created several businesses: Photo Creations, Dumont Detachable Collar, Trinity Home Repair & Remodeling and most recently – Dumont Enterprises. Arnold had many inventions and businesses that never made it to the market, but he never gave up creating, thinking, and designing.

Arnold enjoyed sports such as soccer, volley ball, tennis, football, fishing and ping pong. He was passionate about rebuilding Haiti, photography, dancing, traveling and singing. Arnold’s voice served and traveled with the Corpus Christi Church choir for many years. After Katrina, Arnold returned to Haiti – working to rebuild family homes. Arnold loved to travel and made many memories with his family. He filled his life with beach trips to Sandy Hook, Easter egg hunts at Cherry Blossom Park, cookouts, birthday Parties, track meets, shows, and magical Christmas’s that started with midnight mass and ended with family, friends and food.

Arnold is survived by his children: Clifford Dumond (Cedeirdre), Lakeisha Henry (Ewan), Kimberly Rodriguez, and Karen Dessables; his grandchildren: Niya Dunn, Naomi Dunn, Michael Rodriguez, Gabriella Dumont, Daniel Dumont, Ewan Henry Jr, and Winston Henry. His great- grandchildren: Jonah Dunn and Jori Dunn. Arnold was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather figure to many, many others.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents: Marguerite Arnault and Necker Dumont, his loving wife: Gladys Dumont; his two sisters: Marie Rose Menelas and Lise Ann Marie Lissade.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Arnold on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church: 11 South Sunset Road, Willingboro, NJ 08046
